If the argument is that no one outside of the American continents came over, they would have been just fine, since the were known for hunting, and were harvesters. The resources of this land is bountiful enough to never worry. They may not have had a cell phone, but they wouldn't have a bad life. Is this a "but they wouldn't have cool toys" type of argument that we are going for, or actual content, because there are reasons I unplug and get away from everything, and just enjoy the wilderness. A few years away from material needs and some bow hunting skills and I don't even know how much I would miss.
