juco qb or Braxton Miller

If Les and Cam are really eyeballing juco guys, would Miller be a better one year fit until they have more confidence in Harris or more time to recruit a replacement? I brought Miller up a few days ago but if the juco stuff is true, then Miller could be an option. He wouldn't have to sit as a tosu graduate.

Miller would suck here.
You people are so fricking dumb. You think we can just go get any spread QB and put them in our offense and it would work.

He would be holding a clipboard. Wrong system for him. Just because you're OK in the B1G doesn't mean that you can compete in the SEC.

If we would build our offense around him to use his talents the right way, it could work. But Les and Cam want to make players into their system

HIs career as a passer is likely over. He has had two instability operations on his throwing shoulder. Not a good sign. He needs to convert to flanker or rb

Myth on Cam. He made an offense work for Antwan Randle-El at Indiana. He could do the same with Miller, if Les allowed it.

OK in the SWAC would be a huge upgrade from what we have this year

I am sure Miller would be 100% better than Jennings

And how is Miller available?

He graduates, and still has a year of eligibility.

Miller would be better than Jennings without a doubt. If you've noticed, we have 2 completely different qbs and neither "fit" this year because we don't have a system in place. To think a guy that probably would have led Ohio State to the playoff this year wouldn't help us to some degree is absurd. I don't think he's a great qb by any means, but his athleticism alone gives us more of an edge or more for a defense to worry about. Right now, they don't have to worry about any part of Jennings' game.

Did our coaches take a big 10 qb and turn him into a wide out?

Jesus Christ some people here are crazy with this kind of crap. I also remember that offensive system being pretty successful in the SEC. He was Big 10 player of the year twice, so I'd say that is more than just okay. The only SEC QB this year that is in the same league as him when healthy is Dak, who's going pro.
He had offers from Bama, UF, Georgia, and Tenn coming out of high school too. He chose to leave his home state of Alabama, which shows he has a good head on his shoulders.
And it depends on the status of his arm whether we should go after him or not. If healthy, we absolutely should go after him. He had a cannon for an arm before his injuries.

Possibly. You never know these days. He's scheduled to start throwing again next month. He's supposedly doing very well

Calland said Miller is doing resistance training, has his range of motion back, and will soon be throwing foam balls.

While the SEC has a rule against it, they do have a provide waivers for individuals.
The rule was in place due to that Oregon QB coming to Ole Miss after getting thrown out of school
Ole Miss bball signed two players this year:
quote:
Ole Miss basketball coach Andy Kennedy signed two fifth-year players this season and is going through the process now of getting SEC waivers. Among the criteria for those players to participate immediately in the SEC: They must be in good academic standing, have had no academic or disciplinary trouble at their previous school, and never lost any APR points.
Would still be a pain in the arse road block though

I want Harris to start and play next year. I'd rather we prepare him for a good 2015 season (10-2 or 11-1 looking at the schedule right now), then make a big run in 2016 when we have the most experienced offense since 2013 and most experienced defense since 2012.
Let's say all likely draft-able junior/redshirt sophomore starters leave this year (Hunter, Vadal, Dural, Hawkins, Mills, J. Collins, Kwon). Add in senior starters Neighbors, Rasco, L. Collins, and Porter. I'd much rather we groom Harris under those guys, so we can have a fully capable squad in 2016.
That would give us a returning starter at QB, RB, FB, both WR, TE, all 5 OL, all 4 DL, at least one OLB, at least one corner, and at least one safety for 2016. That's 18 returning starters and best off all, both trenches and QB will be experienced.
