The first guy in the door of that liquor store getting smoked would have surely slowed their progress.
Having said that, I wonder if it would have slowed the aggression or drawn attention and resulted in an even worse outcome.
The looters were cowards. It's why they were where the cops weren't. Had the first one through the hole been shot, not only would no one else have tried going through, the entire parking lot would have cleared in about 5 seconds.
