Where are the Loomis threads?

Might as well add him to the mix.

Everybody around here seems to love Loomis.
I questioned his abilities some time ago and was roundly attacked.
He's a bean-counter, not a football guy. You need a football guy as your GM.

Has he really hit on a first round pick as GM? Ever? 2006 was incredible but hasn't done much since.

We only draft high character guys.
Last time I checked, character isn't what smacks other teams in the mouth on 3rd and 12.
We need more bad boys on this team.

Who know how to tackle, instead of doing commercials for 5 minute oil change.
Sorry for the thread hijack, just pissed at Vaccaro. Even the bad boys get soft under this regime.

Loomis is terrible.
He's not even great at the money shite. That's biting us in the arse because you can only put shite off so many times. You cant mask a lack of talent. The lack of solid contributors we draft would have any other GM fired. Like years ago.

Ownership is in Eternal Love with Loomis, so, this franchise is stuck with him.
A bean-counter is our fricking GM and not a football guy!! What the frick is that shite?

We could have kept our 27th pick and taken a defensive player there and drafted John Brown in the 3rd round (Arizona used that pick on him). It won't be popular, but Brown has been more explosive than Cooks this season. Plus we could have taken Borland in the 2nd instead of a massive project (and looking like a bust) Stan Jean-Baptiste.
Just saying.
Just saying.

You have no idea what you are talking about here. Last year we were in our cap hell. We went out and resigned Graham while also getting one of the most sought after defensive FAs in the NFL in Byrd. We retained Bush too.
Would you have cut Jahri Evans going into this season? We have very manageable contracts at the positions of weakness. Those positions are also very cheap to replace and easy to draft (outside of a #2 corner)

We haven't done well in the 1st, but we've drafted ELITE talent later on. I would love to see some kind of statistical breakdown, but we've found some incredible value despite striking out on our earlier picks.
We've got some elite talent in this group with Jahri (4), Strief (7), Colston (7), Bushrod (4), PT (undrafted FA), Porter (2), Nicks (5), Morstead (5), Graham (3), Jordan (1), Hicks (3), Armstead (3), Jenkins (3), and Stills (5)

I'd rather let Payton spend our draft picks on offensive players. We haven't shown the ability to draft defensive players. We usually do pretty well in FA there.

Well since he's been more explosive than Cooks this season, he was clearly the better draft pick. Cooks was getting behind defenses pretty regularly once we changed his role up. Cooks fits a variety of roles for us.
The issue I have is taking a project in the 2nd round at the corner position. In our post 2013 position, we should have been looking for immediate contributors. Hell, I wouldn't have been opposed to going WR, WR in the 1st 2 rounds.

Will Smith had a great career
Jammal Brown played well while he was here
Reggie was good
Cam Jordan
Ingram appears to have turned a corner
Vaccaro is having a bad year but looked promising last year
still early to tell about Cooks, but was looking to start making a huge impact

You do realize that this is by design. The team wants a "bean-counter" in charge of the salaries and rely on the coaches & scouting department to be in charge of the players.

Wish he could've turned the corner into the end zone on that easy TD he fricked up tonight.

That looked so bad it made me wonder if he put some action on the game.
He really, really, really, really was trying hard NOT to get into that end zone. Brees' expression that they flipped to was priceless.

Yep, Reggie strolls in right there. You don't leave your feet unless you know you're getting over your oline.
We shouldn't be running behind our interior line either way, especially with Goodwin in. If you're gonna run it, you do it behind Armstead

I question the merits of the design. Either the design is bad or this franchise doesn't know how to execute the design.
I say you need a football guy GM in charge with a bean-counter in second chair.
Go get a football guy and rebuild.

Not disagreeing with you, but I doubt they do that as long as SP is there. Bc then he would have someone that may know more than him challenge his personnel decisions.
