There's a difference between a protester and a rioter. I think the people protesting want to see an indictment. The others are there for their own reasons and it has nothing to do with a grand jury decision.

And I tried to move a little bit towards this point with my post. Whether or not I agree with them, the protestors are (or they ought to be) within their rights to march, call for the resignation of whomever, call for changes in police practices, etc., as long as they do so in a peaceful, lawful way.

I didn't see evidence of the organized protestors (at least last time - in the intervening weeks, some straight up Marxist revolutionary f*ckers have gotten involved) - other than getting a little bit chippy with the cops - posing the significant threats to life and property.

Rioters and looters (and there is significant overlap, here) are mixing in with the regular protestors, as well as using the focus on the protest sites as a distraction while they, tactically, attack elsewhere have been the biggest problems so far.

What may happen is that one of these agitators will mix in with the crowd, throw a bottle, Molotov, fire a weapon or some such nonsense and trigger a bloodbath - that is the most likely way this gets out of hand.
