It doesn't. I think they payed a premium for stability. That said, I think he's going to hit very well there. Not 20 million dollar well, but enough to wear people won't continually second guess it.

I know it is not 2011 again since the Sox did not pay 300m again but they did just fork out 200m for 2 players who I believe are less of players than Crawford/Gonzales were at the time.

Yeah, I agree. It's not let Panda will regress to Luis Valbeuna or anything. He will be a solid, slight above replacement player for them regardless. Money is overblown in baseball. It's just getting crazy that guys like Martin and Sandoval are making money that was once reserved for the elite guys.
