Well yeah, that's my point.
Sandoval is getting $20m a year. Some of it is because he's a decent enough player. Some of it is from postseason success. More of it is because more than one team is perceived to be "in" on him, driving up the price.
His play on the field does not warrant $20m per.

It doesn't. I think they payed a premium for stability. That said, I think he's going to hit very well there. Not 20 million dollar well, but enough to wear people won't continually second guess it.
