He would not be the first nor will he be the last guy to capitalize off of postseason success. I think you're giving the Sox FO too much credit.
And just like that, Kyle Seager, who is a year younger, gets 7/100. Seager is a better player (especially if you're using WAR) yet he is going to make ~$6m less per year than Sandoval

Well that's just the nature of the business. Seagar was arbitration eligible for the first time. If he was a free agent, he'd be getting at least as much as Sandoval.

Seager wasn't a true free agent though. So it isn't an apples to apples comparison. The Mariners already had him under contract at highly discounted rate for some of those years, that's why he got less. Same reason Trout only got $150 million.
