played overlap for 10 years and had a problem with my right hand coming off the club slightly every now and then. Switched to interlock and strike the ball better now than I ever did with overlap

well here is my situation. i've played golf for 20 years, started with baseball grip as a youngster, eventually switching to interlock for the last 15 years or so.

this past year i started toying with overlap on my putting and it helped tremendously. i feel it helped me remove right hand/wrist influence.
also i think i play very right arm dominant.

i then started toying with it on the range with irons and driver. it seems i am losing some distance, probably because im right arm dominant and removing that strength. however i also found i wasn't pushing or fading the ball as often. in fact i was striking a more natural draw, which is what i played through high school, until college when i started playing a fade more often.

i wasn't sure the science behind it, or if it makes any sense at all.

i can tell you that i don't feel as in control doing overlap, but i've also played interlock for so long. but i do see a lot of benefit from removing some right arm influence.

thoughts?
At any point in my rambling, incoherent response was I even close to anything that could be considered rational?
