Word I'll check that one out.
I get the regeneration and Daleks being evil but don't really understand how the timeline as the Doctor knew it changed. Is that gonna be explained/do the Daleks time travel too or is it just one of those things in time travel shows/movies that you have to not scrutinize too much

Yes, the Daleks have time travel capability. It will be explained how some of the Daleks escaped the Time War but at the same time, some of the various explanations won't be great so it probably is a good idea not to scrutinize it too much.
Between the old series and the new series, there have been a ton of stories so beyond some very basic parameters, the history of it all is getting pretty jumbled.

The Daleks can time travel.
I'm gonna cast a vote for Caves of Androzani from the original series. It was on Netflix. It's widely acclaimed to be one of the best of the original series. And it has the best cliffhanger in the show's history at the end of episode 3
