A lot of ignorance in this thread. If I'm not mistaken, most of the OT is actually paid directly to the BRPD by the businesses/entities that need the cops or request the cops presence for security purposes. The cops then get paid back directly by BRPD from the funds paid to them by the stores, restaurants, etc that request them to work.

It actually costs the city nothing in terms of budgetary dollars on a day to day basis. Now how it impacts the retirement fund I'm not sure. Im no actuary and I've had about 8 snakebites tonight.
