Honestly, not trying to be a dick but how often has your life been put into jeopardy in those 26 years as opposed to a trooper working on the road making thousands of traffic stops every year?

We all make choices Barney, but that is not a factor in the pension plan.

I have no problem with paying them more while they are working, but there is no reason we should pay them more and pay them earlier in retirement.
