I began posting on LSU message boards back in 2000 because it was an opportunity to engage in conversation with like-minded people about something I cared about. Before then you were limited to the group of people you'd run into in your daily life which was rather small in comparision. The internet allowed vast numbers of fans to get together and talk about the program...both good and bad.

What it seems to have morphed into over the years is a conglomeration of fricking miserable counts who spend far more time bitching about the program than discussing it. It's why the stupid term "sunshine pumper" has always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm a god damn fan! Of course I'm positive about MY program! Saying positive things about a positive thing is NOT an issue, or it certainly should not be on a message board dedicated to discussing that thing.

So...if I'm wrong and the true purpose of this place is to have an open forum to complain, than I stand corrected. If Chicken named the place The Rant because that was his vision...to create a place where LSU fans could literally rant about the program, than so be it.

I then formally ask that he be smart enough to create yet ANOTHER board on this sight dedicated for simply discussing the program. A board where actual adult who can string together thoughts longer than what you could squeeze into a tweet can hang out and enjoy talking LSU sports without this constant grousing about every god damn thing. That happens, I'll be glad to swing on over there and leave this cesspool to those who seem to get no joy out of the entire endeavor.
