Regular bench (to your chest)is way more damaging to the shoulder joint. I have my shoulder patients make sure that when they work chest they never let elbows go behind shoulders as its unsafe.

So you tell your patients to cheat the excercise......are you a cross cult coach too??
Most shoulder injuries are because people lift way way to much weight and do not maintain proper speed and form. Dropping weight then bouncing weight back up is what hurts shoulders. The excercise doesnt IF done properly. It's been around since the beginning of time.
