Progressives Always Hold the Trump Card

That Trump Card is government handouts. It is a trump card in almost every political issue imaginable. The GOP is built on the premise of limited government. Sure its members don't always hold true to that premise but they at least have that expectation from the base of GOP voters. Dems do not have that expectation from their voters. They have the expectation of expanding the government.
Lets take for example the immigration issue. If illegals knew that they had 0 access to taxpayer's money, would illegal immigration be so much of an issue?
Amnesty is a serious threat to the GOP because if illegals are granted voting rights they will without a doubt vote for the political party that is willing to give them more access to taxpayer's money. Who would vote for the candidate fighting against giving you benefits?

i proposed a similar thread a while back
and this is the issue with immigration. i am pro-immigration. i am anti-welfare. as a society you have to pick one or the other
it's impossible to afford both
until we eliminate our welfare system (including medicare and SS), then we cannot afford an open immigration policy and need a much more restrictive one. make your choice: handouts or immigration. i choose immigration

No it isnt. They just disagree with Dems on where to expand .gov the most.

This is why the Republicans should pass a bill that all families get good stamps, housing aid and educational freebies. One, it would expose the liberal lie that they want fairness. Second, it would eliminate the Democratic average of pandering to certain groups with freebies. Lastly, the Dems would have to admit that expanding the welfare rolls isn't sustainable and this would bolster the existing conservative position.

The country is against this action and against ACA.
When these illegals start paying taxes( that's what this is all about with dems, more taxes ) then they will start votiing in a different way.
The country will go broke shortly, then the dems will pay the price.

The vast majority of illegal immigrants come here to work and better their life. They only get addicted to government handouts AFTER they get here because that is the American culture. Hispanics who come here illegally are incredibly hard working people.
