Why not get the 3000? Same reel with a little more capacity? I think the handle may be different too.

Why do you need more line capacity?? I'd prefer the smaller 2500

Not sure about you but the only time line capacity came into play for me was getting into a school of Jacks in Venice when I was fishing with mono. If he uses braid, crank down on the drag and line capacity doesn't matter...and unless he is catching Jacks with a 2500, he won't need to worry about it
