I think the comparison to 2004 is fair and instructive. I think the fans thought Russell should have played more in 2004. Here, we have a similar situation except the incumbent is worse and the young phenom is getting less experience. Moreover, at least Randall was an upperclassman who had significantly more experience. Here, the experience gap between the two QBs was not as great.
Indeed, the fear I have is that the rationale for Jennings (his experience; Harris' lack thereof) will be even more valid in 2015 than it was this year. Can you imagine absolutely wasting the 2015 defense we will have with the putrid, one-dimensional offense we may have again in 2015 with AJ at the helm.
It really will be 2011 all over again except the defense won't be THAT good and the offense will be significantly worse. 9-3/8-4 with losses to Bama, Ole Miss and one or two of A&M, MSU or Arkansas.
