quote:If you want to talk about servicing clients, you should see the way the Big 4 treats a smaller client in Louisiana. Bare minimum work topped with maximum charging is what you will get. We didnt care about retention of those clients or gaining more work in that sector. It was completely unimportant to our bottom line. When you go to P&N or HTB you will get them busting their balls for you because you are their market, you are what drives their company. I am not suggesting some 10 person firm here, P&N and HTB are both fairly large, with P&N being the 69th largest in the US
How much time does the person serving as chairman of the AICPA devote to his duties as chairman versus time devoted to serving clients?

quote:This seems contradictory to the prior sentence. I doubt the partners had the same opinion as you. Any work that keeps people productively employed is worth retaining. I'm willing to bet that the partners may have pruned engagements that were unlikely to remain productive, but at the same time they were trying to nurture those engagements that had growth potential.
