well in a way it is somewhat true..

Louisiana football talent was at an all-time high in the late 90's and that started to show through with Saban at LSU.

Louisiana high school football talent is still among some of the best in the country and LSU being the only major school in the state gets the majority it.. even though a few elite guys have gone out of state recently.. LSU still retains such a high majority and doesn't have to battle in state programs like all the other major states..

LSU will continue to hit on Louisiana talent, it just takes a coach able to recruit outside the state and the talent is strong enough to compete on talent alone.. coaching just ups it to another level. I wish LSU could keep it's DC and get a HC that has a track record with developing successful QBs.. but I firmly believe LSU will continue to get talented backs, o-line, and defense.. They still just need to QB with a balanced offensive attack.
