I really think it's a maturity issue. He's never had to work for anything before and now that he has to, he doesn't want to put in the effort necessary.
They can't ALL be head cases AND, well, um, coaching up head cases is why you pay Les what you pay him too.

Rettig wasn't very good. Always struggled in scrimmages and practice. Couldn't take a snap from under center. His was just a case of not being talented enough.
