I disagree
Email is still a more valuable tool in the work place. Emails are more professional, you can include attachments, signatures, archive, print hard copies for people like my boss who still only know how to fax, and other things.
and most people are in front of there computers for the majority of the day opposed to being on the phone which can look unprofessional
