how much does this kind of drone cost?
That specific one is around $1,300.
To the OP -
You should let your friend know that someone who recorded a similar video using a drone at a campus in the Carolinas just got done with a lawsuit from the FFA.
Drone operators are considered to be hobbyists until you start flying low over congregations of people, flying over roadways, flying at heights of over 400 ft, etc.
So long as no one files a complain he should be good, I think the other guy may have buzzed a little too close to some older lady who reported it. FFA won't do anything until they have to investigate a complaint.

this particular dronw cost 500. Gimbal and camera was another 600. The views of the crowds, the team, Les Miles, and the cop, that was all shot with a 20ft pole. Didn't want to get it close to the people. You can tell because everytime I get close, you'll notice how the camera is "leaning in". That is me lowering the pole. also, I didn't fly over the 400ft ceiling limit set for these and the road ways, well they were closed, so that does not apply in this instance. I checked the laws a long time ago. Thanks for watching.
