Having no viable SF on the entire roster
There's a grand total of 1 SF (Kawhi Leonard) in the NBA I'd trust 1 on 1 against those players, and maybe 2-3 I'd count as serviceable. I'd much rather guard elite players with very good guards who can keep up and hound them while dribbling than your basic run of the mill SF. We got our hands on a bunch of balls last night from Lebron.
The difference maker in last night's game wasn't Lebron, it was Kyrie Irving and to a much lesser extent the officials in the second half. When Irving got going, that opened it for Love. When Love got going, we were overwhelmed by the talent and shooting of their big 3.
Size is so massively overrated guarding these guys. Look at Salmons last night. He's prototypical height/length and he looked awful. Give me speed on the perimeter that makes these guys uncomfortable getting to their spots. Gordon should be guarding the other team's best 2/3 every night.
This exact thinking lost us the game last night imo or at the very least blew our chance to finish at the end.
ETA: A huge chunk of Bron's points in the 2nd half came from fast breaks, blown assignments, and the zebras. There's no one in the NBA that's going to guard Lebron 1v1 in the open floor. That's not a personnel problem.

Someone pointed it out in the game thread I think the problem isn't stopping LeBron, it's being so short on solution for LeBron that you put Jrue on him leaving Kyrie to go off. Having a more viable SF, which we hopefully will get by next year, would have made a difference. Maybe not as big of an effect as Asik but getting a legit 3 and D SF will definitely be a "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" situation.
