Coming down from Liberty, MS on La. 67, and the limit drops from 55 to 40 mph in the blink of an eye (frankly, I didn't see one of those reduced speed ahead signs... is there one there?) and a traffic cop is parked right there at the 40 mph sign

it use to be 40mph way before the school on the right going into town, they finally changed it over a year ago to 40mph right at the church on the left were all the cops sit, and there is a 40mph warning sign, but somehow I still forget to slow down

And this is why I was cheering for the state legislator that tried to make all of these towns put up SPEED TRAP AHEAD signs last year by statute. Of course, he got beat down by the other legislators and nothing happened.

If you don't recall, the statute and required signage only went into effect when a majority of their funding came from tickets issued to people who didn't live there. Probably one of the wisest and best considered pieces of legislation I have ever seen written.
