It took a while for their importance to be recognized. They were originally known as "and the rest", you know. I never could believe they actually started with that lame lyric; it was like they had 5 seconds to finish the song, and that's all they could come up with.

(I guess the Skipper would be the closest to a third, but he just played Oliver Hardy to Bob Denver's INSANE Stan Laurel.)
