Does anyone think AJ is going to get much better? That the light is just suddenly going to come on for him? Face it, he's pretty close if not at his ceiling. He starting taking all the first team reps in practice going back to last years bowl game. Went through weeks of practice this spring and fall, and has been getting first team practice reps and starting every game this season.
After all of that he's really hasn't shown much, if any, improvement. He continues to lock onto the primary receiver on passing downs. He doesn't go through his progressions. If his first option is covered he panics in the pocket and takes a sack. To top it off, he's not a good runner either. So basically we have a QB who cannot throw, cannot run, is inaccurate, can't read a defense, and is not showing much in the way of improvement since the first game. It's amazing that we've been able to run the ball as well as we have with teams putting 8 or 9 player in the box because they don't fear AJ's passing. Watch the opposing defense's LB at every offensive snap, they immediately break towards the line of scrimmage to stop our running game.
It must take opposing teams 30 minutes to game plan for our offense.
Just put Harris in and give him some experience. He's our future, AJ is obviously not. We're just spinning our wheels at the QB position with AJ back there. He is just not a D1 quarterback and likely never will be. What we're seeing out of AJ is probably about as good as it's going to get, which is unacceptable.

Jefferswag was better than AJ by a longshot, and that's saying something. Two worst QB's I have ever seen at LSU.
It boggles my mind that we do not go after pro-style QB's only. It is the only QB type that compliments our pro-style offense. We are so strong at running the ball out of the backfield there is no need for a running QB, just a mobile guy that can scramble if needed but looks to pass first.
I will never understand why we recruit dual threat when it doesn't fit our offensive scheme and only a small fraction of dual threat QB's can actually pass well.

Agree. We are not playing for a championship & we are in a bowl game. So, let's put in the player with the most potential.
