I've never been to a game where there haven't been tickets available. Even the biggest games.

1. Look for an actual fan selling them instead of the sketchy "entrepreneurs. It's not hard to tell the difference.

2. If you want to live dangerously, wait until just before kickoff, and you may get tickets for face value or even less. If you want to relax and be sure, you can find them earlier, but you'll pay more.

3. There are plenty of bar/restaurants where your son would be welcome (but he couldn't drink, of course.) ETA: Chimes, George's, Pastime are all places you could watch the game if necessary.
