Look what happened to ole girl - Stacy Dash over a tweet. How dare she exercise her First Amendment rights?
I mean, Sean Penn, ScarJo, heck any number of black rappers, can tweet or say any ignorant thing they want. Stacy Dash comes out for Romney (outing her self as a Romneygro to borrow BHP's term) and pure bile, with racial undertones, from everybody, especially many black celebrities.

Even if that were true, anyone can be racist.
I agree, but that is the definition of racism that many minorities believe and promote.

I just don't believe blacks disliking Carson because of his social, professional, or political status is racist.
That's not racist, but the people calling him a "sellout" are saying that he should believe and act a certain way because of the color of his skin. That can be viewed as racist.

I'm not sure about that. I'll have to think about it for a while considering the definition of racism that actually exists:
quote:
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
I guess I can see how it might be part 2 (Discrimination or prejudice based on race) if there is an expectation that a black man should act a specific way and anger because Carson differs from that.

To me it's kinda like seeing a black guy, going over and talking to him, then telling him "man, you don't even talk like a black guy". I don't necessarily see it as racist (I would probably have a similar reaction if a white guy started talking to me in Ebonics) but it can definitely be viewed as such.

Question: How can a black person be racist against another black person?
I disagree with you here. There is a such thing as self-hate. For example, the great chess player Bobby Fisher's hatred for Jews would make Hitler blush. Brigitte Gabriel, a frequent guest on right-wing talk radio and FOX news, said that Arabs are "barbaric", "evil" and "soulless". Jesse Lee Peterson, another talk radio hero and friend of Sean Hannity, has called Black people "lazy" and "immoral", has thanked "God and White people" for slavery, and said that the Middle Passage was no different than "being on a crowded airplane". I reject he idea that the race/ethnicty of Fisher, Gabriel and Peterson gives them license to say things that we wouldn't be accpepted from a Klansman or a Neo-Nazi.

She is a Lebanese Maronite Christian and while she does speak of the "Arab World", she tends to direct her criticism towards radical Muslims, although she tends to paint with a broad brush.
Kind of like your defense of Palestinian terrorists, suggesting we would hate Israelis if we were treated that way, you might understand her problems with Arab Muslims if you had been born and raised a Maronite Christian in Lebanon.

Am I the only one of the belief that racial relations in this country are worse than they've been in a long, long time? I'm in my mid 40's and have lived in the South most of my life, supposedly the hotbed for racism against minorities and I never remember it being this bad.
Obama and his cronies seem to have set these relations and the notion that "we can all just get along" back 50 years or more. His administration used the notion of unity and "change" to get elected but the second he was in office have done nothing but keep races divided and bitching back and forth with each other. His Attorney General is the most obvious example of this. He's the chief law officer of the whole country, yet every time he opens his suck; it's about race.
Tuesday's election is a prime example. He sent monitors to watch polling places. Not for voter fraud, illegals voting, machine irregularities, or voter intimidation. What did he send them for, "racial fairness."
This isn't 1960 but they've damn sure made it feel that way and it's shameful.

You are not alone. It's gotten worse the past 4-5 years.

Only on this board will you find people that argue that powerful black people are the reasons for tense race relations today.
Totally skipping the fact that white people and their repeated failure to listen to and understand the black plight and sentiment are the the root of this problem?
How can we finger point unless you point the finger at yourself for the institutions and humiliation that has been bestowed on blacks and minorities for generations?

Needless to say, dr. Carson was an idol of mine growing up, and j read his book. Great study. Great story. But stick to medicine man.
He's less experienced that Obama and wouldn't be a good candidate.
He's just be another pond for the GOP. He's startig to sound like a crazy uncle.

Success and working your tail
Off doesn't mean you'll automatically start to think that institutionalized and systemaic and pandemic racism doesn't exist

Thanks, Obama.
Actually I think Obumma might be helping to finally turn the corner on this issue, not due to his intentions or because he actually wants to though!
Unintentional consequences of sucking out in plain sight for all to see.
The traditional black racist like Sharpnot and Slow Charlie Rangle appear to be losing traction with those who even have a small ability to think.

Is this solely blacks faults?

Once you smear with a broad brush, whether it be about Arabs or Muslims, you're engaging in bigotry.
quote:
Kind of like your defense of Palestinian terrorists, suggesting we would hate Israelis if we were treated that way, you might understand her problems with Arab Muslims if you had been born and raised a Maronite Christian in Lebanon.
I don't see what my defense of the Palestinian cause has to do with smearing any group of people. Who do you think I'm disparaging? The fact that you admire a rank bigot and fringe character like Gabriel speaks volumes about your understanding human nature in general, and the Palestinian cause in particular. By the way, many Jews, both American and Israeli, defend Palestinian "terrorists", not the least of whom are former Prime Minster Ehud Barak, who said that if he had been born Palestinian, he would have joined Hamas, and former Prime Minstser Tzipi Livni, who said that Hamas has a right to attack Israel as long as the Palestinians are under occupation.

Not really. He has as much relevant experience than Obama did when he ran for President, other than a handful of "Present" votes in the Illinois legislature and U.S. Senate.
And you voted for BHO twice, correct?

Of course not. But, you don't see much of David Duke on television these days, now do you?
But we get megadoses of Sharpton and Jackson, now, don't we? The race baiting industry has set blacks back at least 20 years, if not more. That is mostly blacks fault - for doing the race baiting and following the race baiters. White liberal "shepherds" also bear a good bit of blame.
Those that try to follow a different path are called Uncle Tom, Oreo, or worse. Boiling crab syndrome.
