You're right. It was a huge message, but it was just as big of a message to the GOP as it was to Obama. We'll see if the GOP hears/heeds that message or continues to fight its base.

Unfortunately, I see lots of compromise and crocodile tears from GOP leadership in our future. In other words, Obama will do what he wants via EOs, Boehner and McConnell will whine and cry about but do nothing, and we're gonna see a flood of illegals like nothing we have ever seen. Of course, they won't be illegals for long.
