A first for me.

Are cell phones allowed? Trying to figure out how I will pass the time.

How is the selection process? What can I do to get myself automatically disqualified?

Don't do anything too stupid here or they can hold you in contempt.

I had Jury Duty in NOLA a few months ago. It wasn't bad at all. Across the hall was a "work space" there was a desk and only 3 people in there. It was great not having to sit in general population. The Wifi worked and I was able to get a ton of work done. Wasn't a bad experience at all.

In the selection room, yes. Once in the vior dire process on a panel, no.

Love or hate. I think it's fun, but ive never been on a jury. I'm the one asking the questions or there observing. It's interesting if you go in with an open mind and don't mind talking.

There are a couple of easy ways to do this. But i'm not disseminating them on this board.

If it's ascension, good luck with that. They weren't letting people out for anything. Tied us up for 2 days. Better bring a book. A long one. No cell phone.

I used to work with a guy whose mother-in-law said that anybody arrested for a crime had to be guilty because the police don't arrest innocent people. She almost caused a mistrial.
You could go the other route and say that the criminal justice system is set up by the man as a means of keeping the people down.

To,not get selected just find a way to look biased.

If the case is a rape case you have a close family member that was raped. If the range of punishment is too narrow you, don't feel it is harsh enough. Stuff like that.

And there's always jury nullification.
