the markup on furniture is crazy high too.

i worked at a furniture store for a year in college. like car dealerships, you can negotiate furniture prices. if they are unwilling to negotiate, walk away.

go check out some factory liquidator furniture stores. they buy all the stock from failing furniture stores for dimes on the dollar and sell them for a decent price.
