Do you have any idea what the cost of living in Silicon Valley is?
Do you not remember all the media reporting 1000 +/- sq ft homes going for 700-900K+?
That pocket of America is unique and I would assume there aren't too many that are paying workers that low of wage there.

Exactly. If the market wage rates in an area are above the price floor set by MW laws, then there are no ill effects.
