Is there a center slit or opening for you to get your gun up and out of? Or does the gun sit on top?
does raffia absorb water?
what was the cost per yak?

Gun will sit on top
Unfortunately raffia does absorb water. I am thinking of tucking the excess of mine down inside the kayak with a little left to cover the top rails.
Cost about $75/kayak. Coco put in a bulk order for the materials, he should be able to give price breakdown.

This. Thought about slits and the like, but in the end the keep it simple approach won out. The raffia has some depth to it, so you could easily conceal your gun some while leaving it accessible on top. Having to pull it up through the material via a slit I thought would be a hassle and not provide any advantage concealment wise.

Yes. Likely after the first hunt we will trim the raffia that sits below the waterline. Since the "blind" is basically two blankets of raffia, it should be easy to hang up and dry even if it gets a little wet.

For 3 yaks:
$100 for 16'x16' military surplus netting
$130 for the 25# of bulk order raffia. The smallest bulk order is 25# and my research indicated 8# was the right amount to cover a sneak boat or pirogue so I assumed it would cover the yaks too.
$30 for zip ties (you use a LOT)
And then whatever you want to spend on spray paint @ $3.50/can
In the end, $80-90ish/yak. Took 3.3 hours and 3 guys working to cut the raffia, the netting and attach the raffia for 2 yaks. Also on the cuda, I have a 4' section of flexible motor home piping that arcs from one rod holder to the other behind the seat to help break up my profile.
