I think it is better. Bar Rescue is too focused on Tafford yelling and screaming at the owners.

However, it is obvious that every reality show has a scripted element to it.

Another good one on CNBC is Restaurant Startup.

I'm sure that it's got its share of scripting, as all "reality" shows do. The fact that he walks out on some of these deals instead of staying for the drama makes me think that they try to keep it closer to reality than most shows.

But when they come across side characters like Ewell or the new guy at the wine shop, they'll focus on them for a scene or two to amp up the entertainment value.
