Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors has a website. Go there.

I would recommend an inspector that has a construction background of some sort prior to becoming an inspector. Do your research.

This for sure. Don't let your realtor talk you into someone either, just because that's who he or she likes to use.

Also, just because he costs the most doesn't mean he's good. The one I referenced above was stupid expensive and really was bad.

C'mon man... sure there are some knowledgeable inspectors, but a sizable percentage like to throw out bullshite code requirements they misinterpret or don't fully understand.
