Go look at the timeline of thomas eric duncan and see all the people that were around him (and caring for him) without getting sick. You don't start sneezing blood walking down the aisles of albertsons unless you've been sick for a while. Duncan had to be taken to the hospital. The paramedics didn't catch anything. The people staying with him before that aren't sick despite being with him in a small apartment for a couple days after his fever started. He was in the hospital for a few days bleeding, with uncontrollable diarrhea and projectile vomiting while the staff wasn't wearing the proper gear. Evan then only 2 of the nurses got sick. They both treated him before the hospital staff began wearing the correct safety equipment/gear.

Not everybody who is around someone with a virus gets infected by it. I don't care about the people that didn't get it, I care about the people that got it and how not to have other people get it. This expert narrative of the virus that you're trying to write also includes an ending with a 90% mortality rate, but of the 5 cases reported in the U.S., 4 have survived. I know it's a small sample size, but the next 44 have to die for that to be accurate.
