Ole Miss beat BAMA head to head. That makes sense. It also shows less bias than I expected. I don't, however, get OK over LSU when our two losses were to two teams still in the top 4. AND we have won 7. They have only won 5. ?????

Don't get it

LSU has 2 big loses. OM has 1 loss by 3, even though it was with us having 4 turnovers and a missed 21 yard field goal.

If LSU takes care of business the rest of the season then this is a mute point

LSU lost by 5 touchdowns to Auburn.

We deserve no consideration for the playoff unless we win the SEC.

Next.

Its way to early. I agree BAMA needs to be in the top 4.

Don't worry too much about rankings at this point. If we win the SEC, they're not keeping us out.

jmo, but it doesn't matter right now, because if LSU takes care of business, OU won't be ahead of them, at the end of the season.

If Ole Miss loses to Auburn and we beat BAMA there is no way that we just both of them

It's a frick frick job by the NCAA. What else is new? There will always be the 4-5 teams that the sports powers that be will look for any excuse to rank high, Chokelahoma, USC, ND, etc.

All we can do is win and call in bomb threats.

It's not enough to just say we lost to a high ranked team. We got curbstomped by high ranked teams. We didn't hang with them.

A. You're complaining about the difference between #18 and #19 in the first poll realeased in OCTOBER. In the end only the top 4 matter. Being #5 or #105 means the exact same thing, diddly-shite.

B. OU lost to top 25 TCU by 4 in a close game, and top 25 KSU by 1. LSU on the other hand got beat by MSU in a game that wasn't as close as what the final score indicated. It was a complete fluke that LSU even had a Hail Mary at the end. They followed that up by being embarrassed 41-7 vs AU. The better question might be is OU ranked too low.

We could have lost both games by 100. I still think 1-2 vs. the top 5, 6-0 vs. everyone else goes ahead of 0-0 vs. the top 5, 5-2 vs. everyone else as a general rule. The only way it wouldn't be true would be if the second team had much better wins overall, and we know that isn't the case.

I'll try to play devil's advocate.

If I'm a lazy voter, I don't have time to compare victories. It's way easier to just compare the losses, there's fewer of them.

We all know how LSU's losses went down. Look at the box scores of the Sooners losses:
1 2 3 4 Total
OU 14 10 7 2 33
TCU 14 10 7 6 37

1 2 3 4 Total
KSt 7 14 10 0 31
OU 7 10 7 6 30

Choose either one, and a lot of reasonable, but lazy, voters might say one them sort of equates to the Miss St loss. Compare either one to the Auburn loss. OU just doesn't have that bad of a loss, to date.

Hence, the over-simplified lazy voter process is: rank teams you don't care about by number of losses. The tiebreaker for equal number of losses is: bad losses vs respectable losses.

I want to emphasize that this in not my process, but how I think a lazy (or strapped-for-time or just plain old stupid) person might do it.

Let me quote a semi famous politician,

"At this point, what difference does it make?"

Mid season rankings are just made up for arguing about...just win out and things will take care of themselves...
Arguing about where OK vs LSU is right now in the polls, has no bearing on the price a white beans in Fargo, ND, so what's the big freakin deal?
