I agree with most of your premise, but I think you're confusing "worn down" with out of breath, as opposed to muscle fatigue by being pushed on for 50 times a game and fighting to push back. Offensive linemen who are much larger are in a more advantageous position to wear down the legs of the defensive players who are not only trying to push back, but push away, read keys, chase down running backs. That's what ground and pound does...not make them winded.

I've never seen a more frustrating 264 yard rushing performance. With the constant nice gains I kept expecting that Fournette or Magee would break off a long TD... and it never came. Credit to both the LSU offensive line and to Ole Miss's second line positioning and tackling.
