I've got two pecan trees in my backyard. They produce a ton of pecans but they are usually empty or have a very small nut inside the shell. No edible pecans are ever produced.

Now, I've got a ton of squirrels that consistently throw green pecans down early. Is that the issue or do you guys think it's the tree itself? Anything that I can do to fix this?

A pecan tree that sheds limbs and doesn't produce fruit is not worth having IMO.
