It's a great venue, but Manship does a piss-poor job of advertising which artists are going to be performing.
You would think the name "Marley" would be big enough to warrant advertising at least a few months in advance of the show, but I didn't know about it until this week.
A couple of years ago one of the premier female jazz vocalists in the country--Jane Monheit--couldn't sell out 700 seats over two shows because there was absolutely no advertising.
I never knew Gregg Allman was playing.
However, it seems like Manship advertised the appearance of Audra McDonald for almost a year--she was on billboards, buses, tv, radio--everywhere. I bet she sold out 700 seats.
