It wasn't so much that Mettenberger all of a sudden became a good QB that night, it was that Les was backed into a corner in the first half and realized that he HAD to throw the football to try and win the game. Bama wasn't going to just let LSU line up and run the ball over and over.

It's kind of funny. On several occasions when Les had no choice but to open up the passing game (Ark. last year, Wisc. and Fla.) Jennings has generally delivered with clutch plays. Who knows? Maybe the problem isn't (and never has been) the QBs, but a HC that doesn't trust or allow them the chance to succeed?

no but it was the night things finally came together for him. it was his 8th game, his 5th SEC game; in the previous 4 he threw for 46.3 percent. vs bama that jumped almost 25 percent to 68.6.

you think this board is unhinged and whiny about QB development now? holy frick you should have seen all "hes simply not an SEC QB", "I told you Miles couldn't develop a QB", and "Beckham and Landry should just transfer" posts after that Texas AM game.

100 percent not true. LSU had 83 rush yards in the first quarter vs bama, 112 in the first half. Miles threw more vs bama because these things take time and Mett had finally become Mett.
