Find him. Kill him. But really, you should probably call the cops and give them the license plate and report it because they will/can find him, and he could be charged as a criminal to the full extent of the law.

Too late now, it's heresay. The report will go to insurance, and you will have to get an adjuster involved. He will tell his insurance you are bat shite crazy, then it's his word against yours. Now your insurance has a "claim" in house, and even though it's likely lower than your deductible to fix, it's still a claim. You screwed yourself.
Suck it up. Pay to fix it if it gets your panties in that much of a wad.
