re: which type of kid would you rather have?

Between the two choices, I take: "Soft geeky anti social but makes good grades and is polite".

No one should rather have a disrespectful kid, regardless of their social status or athletic prowess. My boys know they have two responses to questions from adults - yes sir/ma'am, or no sir/ma'am.

The goal as a parent should be to raise a well rounded child that is confident in themselves, knows they have the love and support of their family, and uses his/her talents to serve others in some way to make a difference.
