What kid will be the happiest, most well-adjusted adult?
Humans spend a relatively small percentage of their usual life spans lives being adolescents or children. Keeping the big picture in view is important. Why worry about whether a kid is a nerd or popular, you won't change them.

Between the two choices, I take: "Soft geeky anti social but makes good grades and is polite".
No one should rather have a disrespectful kid, regardless of their social status or athletic prowess. My boys know they have two responses to questions from adults - yes sir/ma'am, or no sir/ma'am.
The goal as a parent should be to raise a well rounded child that is confident in themselves, knows they have the love and support of their family, and uses his/her talents to serve others in some way to make a difference.
