Why so late? I remember having homework every night at that age....but my parents made that be the first thing we did when we got home. You wanted to go play with friends or watch tv....do your homework first.
I was in public school and don't remember having a ton to do, but my buddy down the street went to Catholic school and his schoolbag was always loaded down and he always had hours of homework.

Same, except I was allowed to have MTV on while I did my homework (back when it was just music videos...convinced my mom the music helped me)
