I think I understand what you are getting at, but in terms of genre range, there is none better than Hanks. He does everything except pure action and he does it all well. He has far more range than Keanu, even in the sense that within the roles he chooses, he shows more depth of character. I love Keanu Reeves, but hanks is one of the best actors working and has been for years.
