If I were King I would drop the freaking HAMMER. I'd clean house on administration, teachers and most importantly students. My delineation would not be GRADES and IQ, but classroom behavior. Bad kids NEED to be isolated. Not dumb kids. Warehouse the bad kids, IDGAF.

But don't punish the good kids because they live in a shithole and their parents lack the sense or resources to get them out. St. George will be the educational death knell for them. An unintentional negative consequence of your good intentions and desire to topple the status quo-More despair in North Baton Rouge.

It would take a king to implement that idea because the current school rating system penalizes a school for transferring and isolating an ill behaved student in the schools for misbehaving students.

I know it sounds hard to believe but that's the way it is. If a school principal wants to clean up his school from the miscreants by transferring them out to the detention schools, of which EBR has two by my last count, the principal's school rating takes a hit.

The current system is totally opposite of what you propose, and that comes from the state level, not the parish level.

I totally agree, I'd do the same if I were king.
