An LSU employee who recently returned to Baton Rouge from Liberia where he trained police there to avoid contracting Ebola will remain under a precautionary 21-day quarantine before returning to campus, according to the university.

Kudos to LSU for taking reasonable precautions. Also - should point out this guy wouldn't have even been allowed to fly home under the let's cancel all flights inbound from west Africa plan.

Obama and his peeps wrote a 2,700 page insurance reform bill (it sucked, but we've already discussed that).

in the event that Obama ever does ban air travel from these infected countries, are you saying that he's too dumb to put in a provision allowing people with U.S. passports to return and be placed in isolation? Do you really believe that Obama would issue an EO that would effectively leave military personnel and healthcare professionals stranded over there?

The employee is doing this himself...kudos to him too.

He is aware of the treatment strategies and knows the precautions. Our government should take a page from his book and actually do something to help reduce the spread. Right now, we are responding to a crisis instead of getting ahead of it.

IMO, the state and the Feds should be pushing to setup a biocontainment treatment facility (either temporary or permanent) at OLOL and similar facilities across the nation. Hopefully we won't have to use them. Something with negative pressure and a staff trained and equipped to handle at least one patient at a time.

Texas Presbiterian proved that regular hospitals are not equipped to handle ebola cases. I also suspect that they moved those nurses out to other facilities because they expect more cases in the near future.

There are no direct flights from west Africa, everything goes through Europe.

Only US citizens should be allowed to return.

They should be quaranteined for a month. Air travel ban needs to be put in effect until things cool down. The U.S. should have 4 regional hospitals specializing in Ebola treatment. Our government has a responsibility to keep this out the country. This isn't a civil rights issue.

No where in the article did it say how the guy returned home. Passenger, private jet? This is the kind of shitty reporting that leaves facts out only to make the public speculate.

Also - should point out this guy would have been allowed to roam freely under the Administration's Travel Policy.

Why does the Administration object so strenuously to quarantine policy exactly like this one?

Ebola downvoted you.

Also, University of Texas just sent out a letter to all students that one kid there also is experiencing symptoms and that he has been self-quarantined (whatever that means).
