Matheny needs to be let go.
Just making the playoffs may be acceptable with some franchises (e.g., Texas, Houston, Miami). But St. Louis fans expect more, and they're never going to see it with Matheny.
Seriously, Ron Washington was a better game manager.

Yes he does, the fact he was ever hired is a huge blemish on this franchise
