The virus is able to live for days outside the body.
Where did you hear this? There has only been one study that addressed the viruses survival outside of the human body and it involved the perfect conditions for viral replication and survival in an indoor, controlled setting.

With ideal viral conditions and an indoor environment, it can survive for up to 6 days.

In the only follow-up study, they showed that in comparison to other viruses, ebola virus is sensitive to both UV light and drying.

Where did you get the "able to live for days" statement?

6 DAYS in an ideal situation could mean what ? 3 days in a lesser ideal situation ?
